1. I’ve got an S7800B great for emulator and Android games, but this model is a monster they say the gpu is 12 time better than my model. Infact I got an update on my version, before i could only do 32SD Card now mine does 64Gb sdcard. They say this is 5G compatible on the official website which make it the first 5G gaming tablet vita and 3ds you have some competition.

2. Great specs but but jxd outuglied the Shield portable. Holy crap is that an ugly duckling. Also the price is too high for me. I’ll stick with this.

         1. With x86 and a decent GPU? Good luck with that, unless you also want to cook on it 🙂 Also, a Windows interface on 5-6″ would be way too small (trust me, I had an UMID mBook too), and since windows scaling is still sh*t, should be a very low resolution (WSVGA or so). And even if you get all that, most PC games would be hard to play on a handheld. I tried to play a lot of thing on my UMID back in the day, and even if the game run decently, it was a nightmare to control and could barely see the HUD (think TES:Morrowind, GTA3, CliveBaker:Undying, Starcraft BW, ReVolt, Grim Fandango, Jedi Academy). A lot of old PC classic make a comeback on Android and iOS, usually with revised controls and upscaled graphics. Unless you want to play Crysis or Arkhan Knight (which wouldn’t run on a hardware you could pack in a 5-6″ portable), you should check those out instead. Just recently I bought Grim Fandango for Android, it was a pleasant surprise, easier to control and the graphics is better.

               It’s cheap, solid, has a awesome screen, speakers and analogs, runs everything in the play store and all emulators, and is just wonderfull. I love it!

               It’s telling, literally EVERY review on youtube is super positive (about 5 of them right now in English)

            2. I just want for emulation (Wii/Gamecube/Ps2), currently only Nvidia X1 can emulate dolphin and its not that great.
               I saw lumia 950xl/Xperia Z5 they use liquid cooling so i hope with reasonable thickness and smart cooling someone can put Skylake core M in small form factor.

            3. You want too much. Emulation will never be a main focus of any sane hardware-manufacturer. Even their own backwards-compatibility is a feature they usually remove pretty soon (PS3 could play PS2 games, then it couldn’t then it was not able to boot into linux anymore either). So suppose someone decides to make it, they will have to calculate with expensive parts, expensive production all on small scale, while being shunned by everybody else… so the device would be only availabe on select markets and would be expensive. Very expensive. Remember the open-source N900 replacement board? It cost twice the price of the original phone, was two (maybe three) years in the making and by the time it was ready, everybody moved on to another platform. Nobody will make that hardware (and we didn’t even touch if it’s even possible to make at all with the heat issues and power-consumtion), so don’t wait for it.

               BUT!

               You can make it for yourself. It’s now possible to have access to 3D printers on reasonable prices. You can throw a case around the hardware you want (take a 12-13″ notebook mainboard as a base, they are usually pretty small inside if you leave out the battery, or you can take that too), take the screen as well, and an Arduino micro is a good base to make your own game-controller. You can buy the buttons, sliders and joypads on any chinese online market for cheap too. Nobody will make this for you, but welcome to 2015, you can make it yourself after watching a few hours of youtube tutorials and reading a few articles.

            4. Isn’t the Neo900 still in development? Either way, it’s way too expensive now anyway (over $1k last I checked). The Dragonbox Pyra is looking to be a way better option, though it’s also looking to be pretty expensive (like $500-600 or something).

8. NO…. Just NO! My last two JXD products absolutely sucked. The first one s6600 became slow and the battery started to suck after a mere three months. My two s7300b tablets were disabled by JXD’s own update tool within the first week. JXD tablets are garbage and I’d advise staying AWAY from them. They always look inviting and trust me, this one looks amazing but they always end up with some major issue.

   1. I also had a run-in with the 7300 series. kind of cool at first and then a major failure at the chip level pegged my analog control to the left and that was pretty much it.
      At the time there was a great community that provided great firmware, but it is just not worth it in the long run as the hardware won’t last. It just won’t.
      Get a good phone or tablet and pair it to a modern, high quality Bluetooth game controller.

   2. YOU ARE SOOO RIGHT! I WANTED THIS BUT THEN THEY DID AWAY WITH THE K1 CHIP AND WENT WITH RK. NOT WORTH THE PRICE NOW.

9. But – does it get access to Nvidia games and and stuff which they put out just for Shield devices? I’m guessing now as I don’t think the Nexus 9 gets access.

   1. Stupid ain’t it? You’d think devices that meet technical requirements like OpenGL support, especially their own chipsets would get access. And Vulkan is going to enable more chipsets on mobile to support the new API’s. Hopefully we start seeing a little more broad hardware support for the ‘console like’ games that developers may put out for Shield.
